Description
Forbidden Island is a 2010 cooperative game designed by Matt Leacock, the famous author of all the games in the Pandemic universe. In Forbidden Island, players must work together to save all the island's treasures BEFORE it sinks! Each player takes on the role of an adventurer (pilot, explorer, engineer, etc.) and must use their special power to help their team. This game is won when the players have collected all four treasures, reached the airstrip, and escaped by helicopter. This game develops communication skills and teamwork. Only the bravest adventurers can coordinate with their companions to save all the treasures. Forbidden Island is sinking, but it is necessary to save the four treasures: The Earth Stone, The Fire Crystal, The Wind Statue, and The Ocean Chalice. To prepare for the game, it is necessary to build a game board by shuffling the tiles on the board and placing them face up in a cross shape. In each turn, players can perform three of the following actions: move around the board, ensure that sunken pieces are safe (and not completely lost), give a treasure card to a teammate on the same piece, or give 4 treasure cards in order to save one of the four treasures. The player then draws cards from the treasure deck. To end their turn, the player takes on the role of the island! They consult the water marker, which indicates the water level and how many cards they must draw from the deck. The places indicated on these cards sink (the tile is flipped over) or, if already sunken, are completely lost. If a player is on one of the tiles that has been completely lost and cannot swim to an adjacent tile, everyone loses the game. It is necessary to ensure that the treasure pieces are not lost, because if you have to remove a piece where there is a treasure next to it, you cannot recover this treasure and you lose the game. This game encourages a lot of communication between players. It's necessary to make plans together and arrive at the right decisions. Each player has special powers and must use them to help their teammates save the treasures. With the water constantly rising, players feel the pressure of urgency and must carefully analyze the situation and the solution. Being a cooperative game, all players are committed to seeing the game through to the end. As the board always changes depending on where the tiles are placed, this game has very high replayability. And once your group of adventurers has played a couple of games, you can set the game's difficulty level to normal, elite, or legendary.

On Forbidden Island, it's win-win or lose-win!

Forbidden Island is one of the best gateways to cooperative games. Children from 10 years old can discover the fun of working as a team to complete the mission of saving the island's treasures.
