Catan Junior DEVIR

Catan Junior retains the same trading mechanics as Catan Basic and is adapted for easy play with children, allowing them to begin their journey into the world of board games. With a pirate setting, players place lairs in a ring of islands and build ships to obtain materials from other islands. On each turn, they can build a ship, enlist the help of Coco the parrot for great rewards, or build a lair. The first player to control 7 lairs wins. On each turn, one player is the captain, starting with the youngest player. The captain rolls the dice to determine which "this" and "that" tokens are distributed to the players. Then, the captain, in any order they wish, can build lairs and ships, as well as ask Coco for help. If they don't have the necessary tokens, they can alternate between "this" and "that." Then, the player to their left becomes the new captain. Beware of the Pirate Rapina, who can spoil your plans! In the Junior version, the Pirate Rapina functions like the robber in Catan Basic, but in a gentler way. When a 6 is rolled on the die, the Pirate Rapina doesn't steal, but only blocks resource generation. They must generate their own resources of wood, pineapples, sheep, sabers, and gold to win. In this Junior version, resources are tokens that are easier for younger players to handle. To build a ship, you need wood and sheep wool, but to build a lair you need those two resources, plus a saber and a pineapple. Turns in Catan Junior work the same way as in basic Catan: you roll the dice, generating resources that you can trade with other players, and at the end of your turn you decide whether to build or buy help from the Parrot Coco. Although Catan Junior is perfectly suited for younger players, it's actually a game for the whole family. This game generates fun for players of all ages because, although simplified, it has what makes Catan a worldwide success: high player interaction and replayability. Each game of Catan Junior will be different, making it repeatable countless times.
