The Faber-Castell Pitt Pastel Pencil, with a dry pastel lead, is widely used by artists not only as the ideal complement to pastel chalk for executing fine details, but also for its excellent performance when used alone. Many artists appreciate the versatility of pastels but prefer to avoid the colored dust and messy hands typical of this material. Therefore, they opt for Pitt pastel pencils, which offer control, cleanliness, and precision without compromising artistic expressiveness. These pencils have a compact and economical lead (Ø 4.3 mm), with a high level of pigmentation and excellent lightfastness, making them ideal for line drawing, shading, and creating delicate color transitions. They are wax and oil-free, allowing for smooth and natural blending. Blending can be easily done with a finger, cotton, cloth, or blending stump. Despite being encased in wood, the pencil should only be sharpened with a sharp blade, such as a scraper (Ref: 65076), to preserve the quality of the lead. After completing the work, the use of a fixative is recommended, requiring only minimal fixation to maintain the vibrancy of the colors.
